Piet Mondrian Series A series of stained glass-style artwork inspired in the famous artist Pieter Cornelis Mondrian. Piet Mondrian (Amersfoort, March 7, 1872 - New York, February 1, 1944) was a Dutch modernist painter. He created the neoplasticism artistic movement and collaborated with the magazine De Stijl and later with the forms of concrete painting. From 1917 until the 1940s he developed his great neoplastic work. This phase of his work, the most popularly spread, is characterized by paintings whose structures are defined by orthogonal black lines (the use of diagonals would induce the perception to see depth in the canvas and motivated the break of his friendship with Theo Van Doesburg, later) . These lines define spaces that relate in different ways to the limits of painting, and that may or may not be filled with a primary color: yellow, blue and red, a decision that shows its close relationship with the aesthetic theories of the Bauhaus and the School of Ulm, and that define different visual weights for these spaces. The asymmetrically distributed, matte-painted blocks of color reinforce the idea of ​​a perpetually extending surface movement, indicating that the painter invested in the perception of his work as a materialistic and depthless abstraction, criticizing historical painting while producing a rationalist abstraction , spiritualist and above all concrete of the world.
