After a personal crisis, he adopted the pseudonym "ie xiua", which in the language of the Muisca indigenous people from the Andes mountain range in Colombia (muysccubun), means "path to the lagoon", as a metaphor for his spiritual search for stillness and balance. He has an artistic career of more than 20 years, where on very few occasions he showed his work, which allowed him to cultivate without haste and without pause, seeking in himself the foundations of the art that he now shares. He works on new series where he makes a synthesis of various aesthetic sources that have influenced him: abstraction, the constructive universalism of the Uruguayan painter Joaquín Torres García, the fantastic realism of the Peruvian painter Armando Villegas and American indigenous art. These are the constants of identity in his works that in an amalgam of color and textures, he integrates the figures of fantastic beings and plants that appear in his imagination with elements alluding to the digital age that we live in, as testimony of this time. and as a criticism of the limits that the human being crosses to the detriment of the magical dimension. Inspired by the magic of the Andes mountain range where he was born, he uses colors and shapes that create a world of their own. "I paint what I feel, not what I see," he declares.
