Fuchsia
i like painting using magenta/fuchsia colour; its a colour that doesn't exist. it has no place in the spectrum...our brain made this colour up--which is why i decided to use it as a substitute for the usual dark red blood colour. when depression hits you, it feels like you're crying blood instead of tears, it hurts. it's something that our brain made up, it's not a physical pain, but it's just as true--like the colour magenta. every person has an emotional capacity, in this work i imagine it as a tea cup, when its filled and you're not taking care of it, it will drown you slowly. while a person can look calm or serene on the outside...we never know what's going on the inside.
