Fire… Bronze… Men… Fire and bronze have been synonymous with the works of men for centuries. The crafting of sculptures out of bronze has been a part of human history since ancient times. Bronze has been the choice of metal for sculptors because it is malleable, durable and strong. It is also simple to cast and can be finished to a high standard. From the ancient Greeks to the renaissance period, bronze was a popular metal to use to create sculptures that would last a lifetime. While sculptors of the past created beautiful pieces of art out of bronze, modern sculptors use a variety of materials to create their works. From wood to steel to plastic, the materials used are only limited by the artist's imagination. However, the use of bronze remains an important part of the art form and is still used today to create stunning and enduring sculptures.
