The queen of flowers, the rose, has been prized in many cultures for centuries. Not only because of its beauty and wonderful scent, but also for its healing properties on both a physical and psychological level. The rose has always been seen as a symbol of pure beauty and ideal form. The contrast between the beautiful flowers and the often vicious spines also invariably appeals to the imagination. A rose without thorns may be very practical, but it lacks character. Do not remove the thorns from the roses. If you do, they will die faster. The red rose is a symbol of ardent love, social commitment, secrecy 'sub rosa'. The white rose represents purity, pure beauty and complete honesty. The wild rose blooms profusely, has a fantastic scent and requires little maintenance. An extremely strong shrub that can withstand many (weather) conditions. Roses are perennial plants. With some care and protection in time during really harsh winters, you can enjoy it for years.
