A troll is a being in Scandinavian folklore, including Norse mythology. In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings. In later Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, where they live far from human habitation, are not Christianized, and are considered dangerous to human beings. Depending on the source, their appearance varies greatly; trolls may be ugly and slow-witted, or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them.

I began by using art as a method of escape as I struggled with parental abandonment and neglect. It was a way in which I learned to navigate my mind. Eventually, my desire to create lead me to become intertwined with my own paracosm from a young age. This fantasy world became a comfort for my child self as I struggled to engage with and accept my own mental health symptoms. I found that my creativity became my true passion in life, and this passion then increased my desire to hopefully inspire others. When you purchase a piece of art from an artist, you are purchasing a part of their experiences, their thoughts, their soul. Art can evoke deep feelings that already reside within us. These feelings are what set us apart from other animals. Our creativity and the emotional states that react to this creative process are what makes us truly human. I hope you enjoy my paintings. Each one of them comes from a place of emotion and expression.
