The History of Art is revisited via a series of quotations. This is a fresco, meaning it is painted on a wall while the plaster has not yet dried out. Leonardo worked on The Last Supper from about 1495 to 1498, but he did not work continuously. Yet you can imagine that for a long part of the history of art, the creative process took time and reflection in order to attain perfection.
